About Greenfields and District Bowling Club

In 1912, builder Anthony Pace was constructing a small estate with short streets named after various Shakespearean characters, Falstaff, Percy & Hotspur.

Upon reaching the north end of Falstaff Street and within sight of the old River Severn Bed, the builder generously offered a section of the remaining open space for recreational purposes to include a bowling green, and this was the beginning of Greenfields Bowling & Community Club.

By 1913, over 100 people had joined the Club and since that historic launch, we have been proud to steadfastly continue the tradition of ‘community service’ welcoming generations of families, playing bowls, meeting friends and neighbours, educating, socialising, and celebrating weddings and special events and being at the heart of the neighbourhood.

We proudly uphold our longstanding tradition as a valued community facility, sports, and leisure club.
