Our Club is based within the parkland of Greenfields Community Recreation Ground and has served the local people of this neighbourhood for over a hundred years.

 

We are a community company limited by guarantee and still work to our original constitution with the purpose of:

Promoting social interaction and friendship between our members

• to promote, practice, play, hold, arrange bowls, lawn tennis, lacrosse, running, jumping, gymnastics, billiards and all other sports and pastimes, games recreations and entertainments

• providing accommodation, amenities, library and recreation rooms for the community

 

We have a volunteer committee who work tirelessly to ensure that the club will continue to provide a local community facility to the people of Greenfields for another hundred years. 

 

Three volunteers are directors of the organisation and a team of five part time staff and 14 volunteers help to keep the club and organisation running smoothly.

 

Alongside our highly regarded professional Bowling Centre with a membership of c100 local people, we are proud to continue to provide Greenfields with a community facility for family, group, and business events by hosting local community and council meetings, musical performances, neighbourhood exercise sessions, clubs, classes, and community bingo evenings and celebrations.

 

Over the past year, we have provided a venue for Macmillan Coffee Mornings, Defibrillator Training Sessions, Children’s Playgroups, Community Zumba, Slimming Classes, and Carols in the Park - to name but a few.
